14 Buildings Sealed By The Kwara State Govt Over Lacked Of Adequate Toiled Facilities Required For Its Occupants

Fourteen buildings have been sealed off by the Kwara State government for violating environmental regulations of the state.

The commissioner for environment, Nafisat Buge, said the building lacked the adequate toiled facilities required for its occupants.

According to Buge, the locations of buildings sealed include Sabo-Oke (8 buildings) and Onikun-Kewu Street, Adabata (6 buildings), within Ilorin South and Ilorin West local government areas.

Speaking at a press briefing, Buge said the government of Kwara State will continue to ensure that a hygienic atmosphere is maintained across the state.

Also citing the recent cholera outbreak that has ravaged states she said the government is focused on preventing cholera and other health-related issues.

“Recent inspections resulted in the sealing of buildings that exposed human waste due to faulty soakaway systems, posing significant health risks,” Buge said.

She further urged residents to support the effort of the government to ensure a habitable environment for everyone
