The Obidient Movement has dismissed reports suggesting that the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is undecided about the platform on which he will contest the 2027 election.
There had been speculations that Obi was caught between staying in the Labour Party (LP), aligning fully with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, which recently adopted him, or yielding to overtures from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which has zoned its presidential ticket to the South.
Reacting to the reports, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, told Daily Independent on Thursday that Obi was not in limbo as speculated.
Tanko said, “That is completely false. It has been firmly established that Mr. Peter Obi remains a member of the Labour Party.
“Mr. Peter Obi is not confused at all. In fact, he is very focused on the goals and objectives he is aiming towards. I have never seen a man who is as focused on what he believes he can do for the country if elected president as Peter Obi. He has his eyes on the ball and will not allow himself to be distracted from his mission to rescue Nigerians from the misrule and hardship they are currently experiencing.”
Tanko further stated that Obi’s support base continues to grow because Nigerians view him as a symbol of genuine change.
“The reason for this is that the country has reached a level of decay where the people who are ruling us don’t care about those they govern. The politicians are not concerned about the masses.
“Nigerians are yearning for true change and they see Peter Obi providing the true leadership they desire,” he added. If You’re Reading From Phoenix Click On Read Original at the top To Read Full Article
