The All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians not to allow the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to regain power in the 2027 elections, as reported by PUNCH. The ruling party argued that the PDP is struggling with internal leadership issues and is gradually losing relevance in the country’s political landscape.
APC’s National Publicity Director, Bala Ibrahim, made this appeal in an interview with Sunday PUNCH, where he criticized the PDP’s performance during its 16 years in government. He claimed that Nigeria is still dealing with the consequences of the party’s rule and accused it of failing to provide effective leadership, both in governance and within its own ranks. According to him, the PDP’s internal crisis is proof that it cannot successfully manage itself, let alone the affairs of the nation.
He expressed confidence that Nigerians can recognize the contrast in leadership between both parties. To further strengthen its governance, he noted that the APC has established the Progressive Institute under the leadership of National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, with the goal of promoting politics without bitterness.
Ibrahim mocked the PDP’s struggles, suggesting that its leaders could benefit from learning how to manage political affairs more efficiently. However, he cautioned Nigerians against being distracted by the party’s challenges, urging them to reflect on the difficulties experienced during the PDP’s tenure.
“Nigeria was still suffering from the rot of the 16-year misrule of the PDP. That party is gone. Are these the clowns people are taking seriously to rule this country again? Believe me, this is just the beginning. We at the APC are enjoying the entertainment.”
