23-year-old Student Arrested For Posting Intimate Videos Online In Ghana

The Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has arrested a 23-year-old student, Nhyira Papa Kojo Egyir Hayford, for allegedly publishing obscene material online, in violation of Section 280 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The arrest followed the discovery of intimate videos circulating on social media during a routine cyber patrol on Friday, February 27, 2026.

Police say the videos were posted on a public Snapchat account with the handle @biggforddd123 and involved multiple women.

The recordings reportedly date back to 2023, with the most recent filmed on January 26.

During questioning, Hayford admitted to posting the videos on Wednesday, February 25.

He told investigators he did so in response to a TikTok challenge known as “Anti Shakira”.

He also admitted recording another explicit video in 2023, which he claimed he sold to an American woman identified as Naya for 600 US dollars, equivalent to about GH¢6,500 at the time.

One of the women featured in the videos, identified as Portia Ampofo, was also invited to the police station for questioning.

After initial investigations, the suspect was handed over to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters for further enquiries.watch the video, Here.

He has since been granted police enquiry bail while investigations continue.

The police have cautioned the public against sharing obscene or related content online, stressing that such acts are illegal and that authorities will continue to take steps to ensure the internet remains safe for all Ghanaians.
