Three persons were killed and three others injured after armed bandits attacked Unguwar Kade village in Mada district, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Sunday.
Sources said that the incident occurred at about 3:00 p.m. when the bandits stormed the village and opened fire.
On receiving the report, joint teams of security forces and local hunters were deployed to the scene, but the attackers had escaped before their arrival. The corpses and injured victims were taken to hospital for autopsy and medical treatment.
Authorities said joint patrols have been intensified in the area to prevent further attacks, while investigations are ongoing to apprehend the culprits.
