At the age of 75, Pastor James Ajibola, an Ogun State-based cleric, and his 63-year-old wife, Mrs. Janet Ajibola, became first-time parents after 40 years of marriage, welcoming a set of twin babies into their lives. Their remarkable story has since transformed their once-quiet home into a kind of pilgrimage site, as people from far and wide continue to visit , drawn by the sheer wonder of what many describe as a modern-day miracle.
Looking back on the experience, the couple shared how the naming ceremony of their twins drew an unusually large crowd , not only of well-wishers but also of skeptics who came just to confirm the news for themselves. “Many people didn’t believe it was true. They said they had to see the babies with their own eyes before they could believe such a thing had happened, “they recalled.
For the Ajibolas, the birth of their twins isn’t just a personal blessing , it has become a powerful testimony that continues to inspire and stir hope in others.
LEADERSHIP Weekend observed that what made the celebration even more remarkable was the presence of Muslim leaders and adherents of other faiths, who joined the Ajibolas in celebrating what many have described as a clear sign of God’s wonders. The event transcended religious boundaries, turning into a powerful display of unity, faith, and shared joy.
Reflecting on the day, Mrs. Janet Ajibola said the size of the crowd wasn’t entirely surprising. “Many people you saw at the naming ceremony came to see for themselves if it was true that I gave birth to twins in my old age. Some of them had heard the news but couldn’t believe it until they came and saw the babies with their own eyes”. She shared with a smile.
For the couple, the moment was not just about naming their long-awaited children , it was a public testimony, a deeply moving celebration that drew believers and skeptics alike.
LEADERSHIP Weekend further gathered that the birth of the twins came without any form of medical intervention, surgery, or IVF procedure. Remarkably, the babies were delivered naturally, and within just two hours of labour , a rare and awe-inspiring occurrence, especially given Mrs. Ajibola’s age. For many who witnessed or heard about the birth, it was nothing short of a divine miracle.
Indeed, as the American coach Lou Holtz once said, “Life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it.” And in the case of Pastor and Mrs. Ajibola, their response to decades of waiting, personal pain, and silent longing has been nothing short of extraordinary. Their faith, resilience, and quiet dignity through it all made the eventual joy even more powerful , a story not only of answered prayers but of unshakable hope.
According to the aged couple, their unwavering faith in God was the anchor that kept their marriage strong, even through decades of challenges and emotional turbulence. While others may have given up or bowed to societal pressures, Pastor James and Mrs. Janet Ajibola stood firm, united not just by love but by a shared belief in the faithfulness of God.
The couple, founders of the well-known Super JJJ School and ministers at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Purity and Power Zone, Mowe, also told LEADERSHIP Weekend in a brief chat that their journey was one of endurance, prayer, and quiet hope. They said, “For over 40 years, we held on through the whispers, the expectations, and the silence , never losing sight and believed in the promises that God had made to them. We waited patiently because we knew the day would come when God would fulfil His word.”
Thus, LEADERSHIP Weekend reports that their story stands as a powerful reminder that life is ten percent what happens to you and ninety percent how you respond to it. Their response , one of steadfast faith, resilience, and quiet trust in God has now become a source of hope and encouragement to many.
According to the couple, from the day their twin sons, Joshua and James, were born on Friday, October 3, 2025, their home has transformed into something more than just a family residence. It has become a tourist attraction and a centre for prayer and counselling, drawing visitors from near and far . Both Christians and Muslims alike, seeking to witness the miracle and receive spiritual encouragement. When LEADERSHIP Weekend visited the family home on Tuesday, October 14, the flow of visitors had not slowed.
Speaking with deep conviction, Mrs. Janet Ajibola shared, “Many people, especially women, have been coming since I gave birth . Some for prayer, some for counselling. The birth of these children has become a faith-building tool for many. She continued, “I always tell them that waiting on the Lord, no matter how challenging, is still the best path. There is nothing God cannot do, but it must happen in His own time.”
Drawing from the scripture, she likened their experience to that of Zechariah in the Book of Luke, noting that God visited him in His appointed time. “You can’t rush or fast-track God’s timing,” she said.
“Everyone has their own moment of divine visitation. There is a difference between a promise and the fulfilment of that promise. The promise will surely come to pass but we must develop the faith to wait.” She added.
Sharing one of the many testimonies that have emerged since the birth of the twins, Mrs. Ajibola recalled a particularly emotional visit from a man simply identified as Mr. A, who came to witness what he described as the “good work of God” in her life.
According to her, Mr. A had been previously married, but he and his wife separated. He later married another woman, who had also been previously married. Each had a child from their former unions. In their new marriage, however, they waited eleven years without having a child together. Eventually, the pressure and disappointment led them to separate as well.
Mrs. Ajibola explained, that ” now, he told me that both he and his former wife have each gone on to remarry, and both now have children in their new marriages. If they had only waited a little longer, and trusted God’s timing, they might have had their children together in the same home. She sighed, saying, that’s what impatience can do . It can rob you of what’s already on its way.”
She then gently contrasted that with her own journey. “In our case, we waited patiently for God’s time and the day of fulfilment came on Friday, October 3, 2025. That was the day our joy arrived.”
While Pastor Ajibola was away during the LEADERSHIP Weekend visit, many well-wishers who came to rejoice with Mrs. Ajibola used the occasion to send out a heartfelt appeal , especially to couples who are waiting on God for the fruit of the womb. They urged them not to lose hope, not to give in to societal pressure, but to remain steadfast in faith, trusting that God’s promises do not fail , only that His timing is different for everyone.
