Former governor of Bauchi State, Barr. Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, has officially emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the State ahead of the 2027 general election.
Chairman of the APC Governorship and House of Assembly Primaries Committee for Bauchi State, Assistant Inspector General of Police, John Bassey Abang (retired), announced the results early Saturday morning, stating that the governorship primary was conducted on Friday, May 22.
According to him, Abubakar secured a total of 57,517 votes to defeat six other aspirants who participated in the exercise.
He said the immediate-past Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, scored 26,001 votes, while Nura Manu Soro polled 13,638 votes.
Other contestants included Bala Maijama’a A. Wunti, who secured 13,648 votes, and Kabir Baba Ma’aji, who polled 8,157 votes.
