BREAKING: One Cow Killed, Four Injured In Attack On Cattle By Berom Militia In Plateau

Troops of under Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) have responded to an attack on cattle by Berom Militia at Torok community in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources said the incident occurred at about 5:00 p.m. on May 29 following reports that suspected youths attacked a herd of cattle in the area.

According to the sources, troops of Sector 6 OPEP were immediately deployed to the scene after receiving the distress report.

Upon arrival, the troops discovered that one cow had been killed while four others sustained gunshot wounds during the attack.

The attackers reportedly fled the area before the arrival of security personnel.
The sources said efforts were ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.

They added that Fulani community leaders in the area had been advised to remain calm and maintain peace while security agencies continue investigations into the incident.

Security agencies reiterated their commitment to preventing reprisals and sustaining peace in communities across Plateau State.
