BORNO: Police Arrest Suspect, Recover Knife In Konduga

The Police in Borno has arrested a 18-year-old suspect in connection with the alleged killing of a young man during a disagreement in Konduga Local Government Area.

Sources said the incident occurred on June 6 at about 3:00 p.m. when one Adam Ali Bukar, 18, of Galtimari Ward, allegedly stabbed Ba’umara, 20, of Duwanti Ward, Konduga, in the chest during a heated argument.

The sources indicated that the matter was first brought to the attention of the police by Jiddah, the Commander of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Konduga LGA.

Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led a patrol team to the scene, where photographs were taken and the victim was evacuated to the General Hospital, Konduga.

He was, however, confirmed dead on arrival by a medical doctor.

The corpse was documented and later released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.

Police said the suspect was promptly arrested at the scene, while the knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered as exhibit.

The sources added that the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Maiduguri, for further investigation.
