President Zelensky has invited Putin to meet him in Kostiantynivka city if Russia really controls it.
Russian President Putin claimed on July 3 that Russian forces fully captured the strategic city of Kostiantynivka in eastern Ukraine, calling it a major breakthrough toward controlling the Donetsk region.
Ukraine immediately rejected the claim as false, saying fierce fighting continues and its forces still hold positions.
The city has seen months of heavy urban fighting.
