Chinazor Iwuagwu, a Facebook vendor operating Ladies Definition Boutique based in Imo State, has refunded the N43,000 customer Chisom Muomegha paid for two pairs of women’s suits in January 2024....TAP HERE TO READ FULL DETAILS.>>

The refund came on Sunday after a story published by FIJ in December chronicling how the vendor delivered sub-par clothes to the Lagos State-based customer in February 2024.

On Sunday morning, Muomegha told FIJ that she had received the money from the vendor.

“She has paid the money,” she said in a WhatsApp message. “Thank you so much for this. I am grateful. God bless you.”

Before the customer’s confirmation of the refund, the vendor had informed FIJ that she had paid the money.

Evidence of the refund.

Back in December, vendor Iwuagwu had explained that she engaged another vendor named Onyebuchi in Onitsha, Anambra State, to fulfil the order because she did not have the customer’s preferred choice in the store at the time.

She insisted that unless Onyebuchi refunded the money to her, there was no way she would be able to respond to Muomegha’s refund request.

While making the order and returning it, it was the customer who paid for the waybill. The customer had told FIJ that the vendor had assured her of refunding the money for returning the clothes.

After returning the clothes to Onyebuchi in Onitsha, the customer expected Iwuagwu to pay the money without any delay, including about N5,000 she spent on transportation.

The vendor, however, departed from her promise. She told FIJ that exchange rates had soared since the transaction terminated, and she could not refund the total money, including the waybill charges. She explained the transporters who collected the money had done their job and it would be impossible to get it back from them.

She also said she would only refund 70% of the clothes’ price. She stated that Onyebuchi had not refunded her the money. That meant the refund would come from her personal pocket and she could only afford that percentile amount. But this did not sit down well with the customer.

FIJ contacted Onyebuchi in December but he had travelled for the New Year holiday. He promised to send the money to the vendor when he returned to work in January.

On Friday, Onyebuchi informed the customer that he had sent the money to Iwuagwu. He told the customer to check in with the vendor to collect her money.Tap Here for the Full Story
