The candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC) in the just concluded Anambra governorship election, Chioma Ifemeludike on Sunday met with Omoyele Sowore, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate.

Ifemeludike met with Sowore, a publisher and activist hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the winner of the Saturday, November 8, governorship election in the state.

In a post made on X, Ifemeludike said, while she could not secure a win for the party in the state, she brought home, something more valuable.

She wrote on X, “Dear leader, @YeleSowore I didn’t bring the trophy home but I brought something much more valuable than it, sir.”

She also appreciated Sowore for his support and leadership throughout the election period while stating that she dedicates the victory she has earned so far from the process to him and the party.

“You’re the star maker. Thank you for your support.

“I dedicate this victory to you, AAC and all lovers of truth and justice,” Ifemeludike said.

Recall that Soludo, the incumbent governor of Anambra State won his re-election bid in the November 8, 2025, governorship election in the state.

He emerged victorious by securing 422,664 votes against his opponents; the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Nicholas Ukachukwu, who polled 99,445 votes and Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) with 37,753 votes.

Other contenders in the governorship election include John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) who scored 8,208 votes; George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) and Jude Ezenwafor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who secured 10,576 votes and 1,401 votes each.
