The President of the Senate Senator Godswill Akpabio, has directed his lawyers to withdraw all ongoing defamation lawsuits against several individuals, saying he was moved by counsel of the Priest during 2026 New Year Mass.+See more details
Speaking at the Sacred Heart Parish in Uyo on Thursday, Akpabio said he had filed nearly nine lawsuits against individuals who lied against him and slandered his name.
He said listening to the priest at the service, he felt the priest was talking to him, and that moved him to direct his solicitors to withdraw all the defamation lawsuits.
The Priest had in the sermon stressed that what man needs is peace and admonished Parishioners to live in peace with one another, and letting go of the past.
By the announcement, Akpabio has formally ended all pending legal disputes arising from defamation claims, signalling closure to the publicised litigations as the year begins.+See more details
