A State High Court sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has convicted Okon Jimmy Ama for incest, assault occasioning harm, and sexual abuse involving his two underage daughters.
Justice Winifred Effiong delivered the judgement on Thursday, bringing to an end a case that lasted for more than a decade.
Ama, a driver and mechanic from Ikot Ekop Village in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, was arraigned under the Akwa Ibom State Child Rights Law for offences committed in 2015.
The charges stemmed from allegations involving his daughters, who were aged 13 and 16 at the time.
During the trial, the prosecution counsel, Ofonime Idio, told the court that the defendant repeatedly abused the minors.
