Fresh concerns have emerged regarding an alleged plot to illegally detain human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun.

Earlier today Wednesday Omoyele Sowore and his support has reportedly storm Police HQ in Abuja in honoring of the invitation sent by the IGP Unit.

According to the activist claim that plans are underway to detain him at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, despite the absence of any formal or legal grounds for his arrest.

While there has been no official confirmation from the Nigeria Police Force regarding these allegations, Sowore has in recent days raised alarms over what he described as persistent attempts to silence dissent and undermine democratic rights.

Activists and civic groups have since called for vigilance and transparency, warning against any move that may undermine civil liberties or abuse state power.
