The attention of APC Youth Renaissance has been drawn to the statement credited to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara where he was blaming the administration of late President Muhammadu Buhari for the current challenges facing the Naira.
Mr. Dogara alleged that Buhari administration’s decision to print over N22.7 trillion under ‘ways and means’ was responsible for the current stress confronting the national currency.
But in a statement released to newsmen in Abuja on Thursday by the national publicity secretary of the group, Mr. Edward Emmanuel, the group said Mr. Dogara cannot be blaming Buhari because he was part of the government when the decision was taken but did not voice out if he felt strongly enough that the administration was heading in the wrong direction.
Why is he voicing out now that the former president is dead?
What is his hidden agenda for letting the cat out of the bag at this material time?
Is he hoping to be picked as running mate to President Bola Tinubu in the event that he drops the current Vice President?
While Dogara has right to aspire to any position he wants, he should stop destroying the legacies of others because he who must destroy in order to succeed Must Have Destruction Awaiting Him At The Point Of His Success.
We ask what Mr. Dogara would have done differently if he was the President at the time the economy went into recession and Coronavirus, a worst pandemic in a century was ravaging the entire country with series of shot-downs and low oil prices at the international market?
What the administration of Buhari did is what is called ‘quantitative easing’ in economics and we support the former President for taking such action to save the economy from collapsing at that material time.
In any case, we are not here to compare notes but we are saying Mr. Dogara and others like him who have formed the habit of constantly bashing the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari to stop such nonsense because late President Buhari gave his best in the service of the nation and deserves to rest in peace.
If we can remember, was it not the same ‘righteous’ Dogara who was constantly insulting President Tinubu during his electioneering campaigns?
Who was the failed Vice Presidential hopeful that mobilized the Christian Association of Nigeria against Tinubu during his campaigns?
If Mr. Dogara has forgotten, the internet do not forget.
What has changed between 2023 and 2025 that Dogara could be licking the boots of the man he serially betrayed in 2015 and 2023?
A word is enough for the wise.
Signed:
Mr. Edward Emmanuel,
National Publicity Secretary,
APC Youth Renaissance
