The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified that its 2027 presidential ticket remains open to all interested aspirants, despite the party’s recent endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.
National Organising Secretary of the APC, Sulaiman Argungu, made this known on Wednesday during an interaction with journalists at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
He explained that while the party appreciates President Tinubu’s performance and has expressed support for his re-election, no aspirant would be denied the right to contest.
“We will definitely not close our doors to other presidential aspirants. When the time comes, our timetable will be made known. Anybody who wants to aspire for the presidency under APC will not be denied the opportunity to purchase the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms,” Argungu said.
He stressed that the recent endorsement was a show of appreciation for the President’s leadership and achievements, not a decision to bar other members from contesting the 2027 primaries.
