APC National Chairman Charges Campaign Council: Deliver All Six FCT Area Councils

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its high-powered National Campaign Council for the 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, deploying massive national leadership to secure victories across all six area councils.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja was led by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda. It brought together an extensive lineup including all 29 APC governors, National Assembly leaders such as Senate President and Speaker, Deputy Speaker, former governors, ministers, and other senior party chieftains.

The council with 138 members , is chaired by Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, with co-chairmen including Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, and Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago. Other key figures include deputy speakers, ministers, and top party officials.

In his charge to the committee, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda urged members to deliver comprehensive victories for APC candidates in all FCT area councils during the February 21, 2026 polls. The move underscores the ruling party’s determination to mobilize its full national machinery even for local government-level contests in the capital territory through coordinated grassroots efforts, voter mobilization, and unified campaigning.

This star-studded council reflects APC’s strategic focus on the FCT elections, aiming to build on its dominance and ensure sweeping success in the chairmanship and councillorship races across the six councils. The inauguration marks the official launch of intensified electioneering activities ahead of the polls.
