The Court of Appeal in Abuja has affirmed a lower court’s judgment restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcomes of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national convention held November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The appellate court, in a unanimous decision, dismissed the PDP’s appeal against the October 31 ruling by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court.

The three-justice panel resolved all four issues raised by the PDP against the party, deeming the appeal meritless and frivolous. As a result, the court awarded N2 million in costs against the PDP.
