Armed robbers staged a daring daylight attack on a bullion van in Italy, bombing the security vehicle and fleeing with a large sum of cash in a heist that has left authorities scrambling for answers.
According to reports, the money heist was carried out before 8 am on Monday, on State Road 613, in southern Italy.
The gang, who wore balaclavas to hide their identities, drove a dark blue Alfa Romeo with a blue light on the roof, footage shows.
They initially blocked the motorway with a truck that they set alight, forcing the cash van to come to a stop and preventing police from arriving on the scene quickly.
