This decision follows Tierney’s appearance in Arsenal’s 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday.
Tierney, who made the move to Arsenal from Celtic in 2019, has struggled to secure a regular starting role within the team. His time at the club has been marred by injury setbacks, and he spent the previous season on loan at Real Sociedad. Despite this, he made his first appearance of the season in the recent match against Crystal Palace, but his injury troubles resurfaced as he was forced to leave the pitch after 69 minutes.
Reports now indicate that Arteta has concluded that it is time to let the Scottish left-back go, especially with his contract set to expire in the summer. Tierney’s future at Arsenal appears uncertain, and he is reportedly open to negotiating a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January, which could lead to a potential summer transfer.
Several clubs are said to be interested in the defender, including his former team, Celtic, as well as clubs from both the English Premier League and La Liga.
