ASUU Set To Declare Nationwide Strike Over FG’s Failure To Honour 2009 Pact

ASUU has warned of a looming nationwide strike, accusing the Federal Government of failing to honour its commitments. The union president said lecturers are at a breaking point, highlighting the severe Promise’s Strain on Nigeria’s public university system.

ASUU has threatened a fresh nationwide strike.The union accuses the FG of failing to honour agreements.Unresolved issues include the 2009 agreement and salary arrears.

ASUU also cited withheld promotions and poor pensions.The union rejected the FG’s proposed staff support loan scheme.
