B.General Nicholas, New Army Commander Takes Over At 22 Armoured Brigade in Kwara

In line with the recent postings and appointments of senior officers in the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Nicholas Nemetne Rume has assumed command as the 23rd Commander of the 22 Armoured Brigade, Nigerian Army, Ilorin, in Kwara State.

He took office at the command on October 22, 2025, during a colourful handing-over and taking-over ceremony held at the Headquarters, 22 Armoured Brigade, between him and his predecessor, Brigadier General Ezra Bawa Barkins.

In his remarks, the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General Barkins, expressed profound gratitude to God and the Chief of Army Staff for the opportunity to serve as Commander of the Brigade.

He commended officers and soldiers for their loyalty, professionalism, and support throughout his tenure, urging them to extend the same, and even greater, cooperation to his successor to ensure continued operational success in the Brigade’s area of responsibility.
