Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, was upset after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu picked Kashim Shettima as his running mate in the 2023 election.
Wike said Lawal personally visited him in his Port Harcourt residence shortly after the announcement to express his displeasure.
“After President Tinubu chose Shettima as his VP, Babachir Lawal visited me in my home in Port Harcourt. He was angry because he thought the president would choose him as his VP,” Wike said.
The FCT Minister added that the development showed that political decisions often come with deep personal expectations and disappointments.
