A South London man described by the Metropolitan Police as one of the capital’s most dangerous offenders, Clinton Easy has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 12 years for multiple rapes and sexual assaults.

The sentencing took place on Thursday, 14 August 2025, at Woolwich Crown Court, with a restraining order also imposed.

The convicted man, Easy, 32, of Lutwyche Road, SE6, was found guilty following two separate trials. In the first trial, which began in July 2024, Easy pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and two counts of actual bodily harm and was found guilty of controlling and coercive behaviour. The second trial, commencing in May 2025, resulted in convictions for two charges of rape.

Detective Inspector Jemma Gregory, who led the investigation, described Easy’s offending as “shocking” and emphasised the role of strong victim reporting and evidence collection in securing the conviction. She stated:

“Easy’s offending sets him as a dangerous individual who, thanks to reports from the victim and the comprehensive storyboard of evidence collated by the team, is now safely behind bars. I would like to commend the victim on her strength throughout the investigation and thank her for her support during the court process. It is clear that her early reporting strengthened this case to secure a strong sentence.”

Easy’s crimes were first reported by the victim on 11 January 2024, after he subjected her to multiple rapes in her own home, threatening extreme violence and restraining her hands during the assaults. Detectives worked swiftly to gather evidence from the scene, including photographs of injuries and samples such as a cup of Easy’s urine.

Investigations revealed a pattern of ongoing abuse spanning over a year. Medical records showed the victim required hospital treatment multiple times in 2023, and detectives uncovered controlling behaviour including taking the victim’s phone and posting on her social media accounts.

A storyboard of evidence was compiled, helping police establish a timeline of Easy’s repeated offences. He was arrested following a manhunt on 1 February 2024.

The case forms part of the Met’s V100 programme, an innovative initiative designed to identify and target the most dangerous perpetrators of violence against women and girls. Detective Inspector Gregory explained:
