A notorious forest gang leader, identified as Isiya Kwashen Garwa, has released 37 abducted persons held in captivity in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Zagazola Makama learnt that the victims, mostly men and women seized during recent attacks on rural communities, were freed on Wednesday after several days in captivity.

A community source said the release came amid growing concern over the rising wave of kidnappings across the Bakori–Funtua axis.
He expressed relief over the development and prayed for the safe return of other victims still being held.

“May Allah rescue our remaining brothers and sisters in the hands of these criminals and bring an end to their reign and those sponsoring them,” the source said.
