Bandits Attack Kabunga Community in Sokoto, Vigilantes Kill Two, Recover Rustled Cattle

Armed bandits on Thursday night invaded Kabunga community in Kware Local Government Area of Sokoto State, injuring a resident and rustling a large number of cattle.

According to a news reported by bakastine, an X news reporting platform , said the attackers stormed the community at night, shooting sporadically before moving the rustled animals toward nearby villages.

Local vigilantes quickly mobilized and launched a pursuit in the direction of Maikujera, Angamba and Gidan Buwai villages.

A brief confrontation followed, during which two of the bandits were reportedly killed. The vigilante group also succeeded in recovering all the stolen cattle.

Residents have called for increased security presence in the area as banditry continues to pose a major threat to rural communities. Authorities in the state were yet to issue an official statement as of press time.
