Fresh violence has erupted in parts of Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, where armed bandits launched coordinated attacks on Friday morning, killing one resident and abducting two others.
According to eyewitness accounts shared by security tracker Bakastine on the micro-blogging platform X, the attackers struck Fadamar Dan Gari and Fadamar Gatawa, two neighbouring communities in Sokoto East, an area that has remained under sustained pressure from bandit groups.
During the assault, bandits reportedly abducted two residents in Fadamar Dan Gari, while another victim was killed in Fadamar Gatawa.
Residents say the persistent insecurity has continued to disrupt farming, trade, and daily life across the region, despite ongoing military operations.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement as of press time.
