Three members of the Civilian Protection Group (CPG) were shot dead and their rifles seized during an armed bandits’ raid in Magamin Diddi District of Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State, security sources confirmed.
The attack, which occurred at about 4:00 p.m., involved a large group of bandits who engaged the CPG members in sporadic gunfire before escaping with their firearms. The deceased have been identified as Nasiru Gaji, Jamilu Ibrahim, and Bashar Dan Inna.
The corpses were later transported to General Hospital Maradun for postmortem examination and subsequently released to their families for burial according to Islamic rites.
Security operatives have been placed on alert across Maradun LGA to prevent further attacks and apprehend the fleeing suspects. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
