The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ajibola Basiru, has dismissed claims that Nigeria is drifting toward a one-party state under the ruling APC, describing such assertions as deliberate attempts to mislead the public.

Speaking during a media interaction, Basiru said those pushing such narratives are the same individuals working to discredit the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and destabilize the ruling party.

We should not allow anybody to gaslight us; let it be that all 109 in the Senate are members of APC, 360 of the reps should be APC, and all the state assemblies should be APC. It’s part of democracy,” Basiru stated. If You’re Reading From Phoenix Click On Read Original  at the top To Read Full Article

He argued that democracy thrives when political parties effectively mobilize citizens through persuasion and performance, not through propaganda or fearmongering.

Basiru reiterated that the APC remains committed to pluralism, good governance, and democratic competition, urging Nigerians to focus on development rather than divisive politics.
