Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed Appoints Elder Brother As New Emir

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has appointed his elder brother, Alhaji Adamu Mohammed, as the Emir of the newly created Duguri Emirate.

The Secretary to the State Government, Aminu Hammayo, presented the appointment letter on behalf of the governor at a ceremony held on Friday at the Duguri Emir’s palace in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

During the event, Hammayo urged the new emir to support government policies and contribute to the state’s growth and development.

In his remarks, Emir Adamu Mohammed thanked the governor for the honor and prayed for God’s blessings upon him. He also promised to remain loyal to the Bauchi State Government and the Bauchi Emirate Council.

In a related development, the SSG also presented an appointment letter to Alhaji Jibrin D. Hassan, who was named the new Emir of Bununu Emirate.

Hammayo advised the new traditional ruler to promote peace, unity, and respect for the law among all communities under his domain. Emir Jibrin D. Hassan expressed gratitude to the governor and promised not to disappoint the government or the people.

Daily Post had earlier reported how Governor Bala Mohammed had signed a law establishing 13 new emirates across the state.
