The case against Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe and his co-accused Tobias Matonhodze returns to the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court today, Wednesday.
The pair face charges including attempted murder, defeating the ends of justice, and possession of an unlicensed firearm, while Mugabe is also accused of contravening South Africa’s immigration laws.
The charges stem from a February shooting at a Hyde Park home in Johannesburg, where a 23-year-old gardener was seriously wounded following an altercation.
The firearm allegedly used in the incident has not been recovered and investigations are ongoing.
