Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, held a series of crucial closed-door meetings with Nigeria’s Service Chiefs in Abuja on Thursday.
The meetings, which took place separately with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), and Chief of Air Staff (CAS), aimed at fostering a renewed and coordinated effort in the fight against the resurgence of insurgency in the North-East region.
Governor Zulum, whose state has been at the heart of the ongoing security challenges, pushed for more synchronized actions between the military branches to curb the growing security concerns and improve stability in the affected areas.
Sources familiar with the discussions revealed that the meetings centered on strategies to enhance military operations, intelligence sharing, and community engagement in the North-East.

This development comes amid heightened concerns over renewed attacks by insurgent groups in the region, and further underscores the commitment of the Borno State government to collaborate with national security agencies to address the situation effectively.
