BREAKING: Adamawa Election Commission Chairman, Vokna Resigns ​

In a statement he personally signed and made available to the press, Vokna said he resigned to pursue other interest that matters most to him

“I, Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, hereby formally announce my resignation from the position of Commissioner with the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), effective 17th October, 2025.

“This decision was not made lightly. It stems from personal reasons and the desire to pursue other interests. After due reflection, I believe stepping aside at this time serves the best interest of both myself and the Commission.

“I wish to express my sincere appreciation to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, for the trust and confidence reposed in me through my appointment. It has been a profound honour and privilege to serve and contribute to the strengthening of democratic governance in our dear state,” the statement said.

According to him, “throughout my tenure, I have remained steadfast to the core values of integrity, impartiality, and transparency, which underpin the credibility of any electoral institution.
