The All Progressives Congress (APC) has demanded that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) cancel the by-election in the Shanono/Bagwai state constituency and the rerun for the Ghari constituency in Kano, citing violent disruptions during voting.

Reports from Shanono, Bagwai, and Ghari show voters fleeing amid security challenges. APC claims that conducting the election in such an atmosphere would undermine democracy.

Over 100 suspected political thugs have been arrested and will face prosecution. APC warns that continuing the election under these conditions would set a dangerous precedent.
