Sources said the raid was conducted around 10:00 a.m. on Sept. 27 at different black spots in the area.

Those arrested are: Harrison Innocent, 30; Chidera Aningene, 23; Blessing Ula, 27; Godwin Chukwuma, 40; Paul David, 27; and John Nevgba, 18.

“They were found in possession of substances suspected to be hard drugs, which they allegedly supply to bandits operating in the area,” the sources said.

The sources said the suspects were in custody while the State CID had commenced investigation.

According to sources, the raids will be sustained as part of efforts to flush out criminal elements from the state.

Meanwhile, the sources said 401 Brigade of the Nigerian Army had also commenced clearance operations in the Sankara axis, moving towards Takum, Taraba, to join forces with troops in the area against bandits who fled to Peva (Chanchangi) hideout.

The sources that tactical teams were monitoring the situation and further developments would be made public.
