BREAKING: Education Ministry Debunks Viral “School Closure” Details Emerged

The Federal Ministry of Education has dismissed as false a message circulating on social media alleging that all schools nationwide have been directed to shut down from 24th November 2025.

In a statement issued on 22nd November 2025 by the Office of the Director, Press and Public Relations, the Ministry clarified that no such directive was issued by the Federal Government, the Ministry of Education, any State Ministry of Education, or any recognised security agency.

The Ministry described the viral message as misleading, urging Nigerians to disregard it and avoid amplifying unverified information.

Citizens are advised to rely solely on updates from official and credible channels, including:

  1. The Federal Government
  2. The Federal Ministry of Education

The Ministry emphasised the need for the public to verify information before sharing it, in order to curb the spread of misinformation.
