Hama- Israel War: “What Just Happened Will Shake the Whole Nation !!— And Nobody Saw It Coming!” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has issued one of her strongest rebukes yet against Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza, accusing the government of using famine as a weapon of war.
In a statement delivered on Wednesday, von der Leyen condemned the worsening humanitarian crisis, warning that deliberate starvation of civilians represents a violation of international law.
“What is happening in Gaza has shaken the conscience of the world. People killed while begging for food, others holding lifeless babies – these images are simply catastrophic,” she declared.
She further stressed:
“Manmade famine can never be a weapon of war, for the sake of the children, for the sake of humanity. This must stop.”
The EU chief’s remarks follow weeks of mounting international criticism over Israel’s restrictions on aid delivery to Gaza, where humanitarian agencies report severe shortages of food, water, and medical supplies.
Diplomatic sources in Brussels confirmed that the European Commission is considering additional measures against Israel, including reassessing trade and partnership agreements, if the situation does not improve.
The Israeli government has not immediately responded to von der Leyen’s comments.
