The Federal Ministry of Environment, through its National Flood Early Warning Center (FEWS), has warned of possible flooding in parts of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara States between 25th and 29th August 2025. Areas likely to be affected include Abba-Kumbo, Mubi, and Shelleng (Adamawa); Azare and Jamaāa (Bauchi); Ngala (Borno); Nafada (Gombe); Gwaram (Jigawa); Sumaila (Kano); Bindawa, Kaita, and Katsina (Katsina); Makira (Sokoto); and Anka (Zamfara).
The ministry urged residents, state governments, and relevant stakeholders to take precautionary measures to mitigate the impact of potential flooding.
