At least five United States Air Force refuelling aircraft were damaged following an Iranian missile strike on a U.S. military installation in Saudi Arabia, while another tanker plane crashed over Iraq, killing six American servicemen.

Reports indicate that the aircraft—KC-135 Stratotanker refuelling planes—were struck while on the ground at the Prince Sultan Air Base during Iranian missile attacks targeting the base.

The planes sustained damage but were not completely destroyed and are currently undergoing repairs.

U.S. officials cited in media reports said the attack occurred amid escalating tensions in the region linked to the ongoing confrontation between the United States and Iran.
