BREAKING: Group Demands Muslim Governors in South West

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has urged political parties in Nigeria’s South West to nominate Muslim candidates for the 2027 governorship elections.

In a statement released Monday, Executive Director Professor Ishaq Akintola emphasized that over the past six years, all six states in the region have been led by Christian governors.

He described this trend as contributing to a “religious imbalance” in political representation.
