A senior Hamas political official, Mardawi, has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan, describing it as “vague” and an attempt to undermine international support for the Palestinian cause.
“We will not accept any proposal that does not include self-determination for the Palestinian people and protect them from massacres,” Mardawi declared.
He added that the plan has not been formally communicated to Hamas or any Palestinian faction, but argued that the provisions outlined so far reflect “the Israeli vision” rather than a balanced peace framework.
The statement comes as international debate intensifies over Washington’s push for a ceasefire agreement, with Palestinian groups insisting on guarantees of sovereignty and protection, while Israel demands security assurances and the release of hostages.
