The Pentagon is deploying a Marine Expeditionary Unit – up to 2,500 soldiers – to the Middle East. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth approved the request from the U.S. Central Command after Iran ramped up attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
