BREAKING: Ibadan Chief Imam Declares Ramadan to Begin February 18, 2026 — Asamu Prayer Fixed for Tuesday

The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdul-Ganiyy Abubakr Agbotomokekere, has officially announced that the holy month of Ramadan will commence on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

The declaration was made during Jumat prayers at the Ibadan Central Mosque, Oja’ba, with faithful Muslims in attendance.

The Chief Imam also disclosed that the Asamu (pre-Ramadan) prayer will be observed on Tuesday, February 17, marking the spiritual preparation for the fasting period.

He urged all Muslims to embrace the sacred month with increased worship, acts of generosity, and good deeds, seeking divine mercy and blessings.
