Despite the ongoing ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement, Israel has reportedly refused to release two abducted Palestinian doctors — Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and Dr. Marwan Al Hams.

According to local media and humanitarian sources, both doctors were excluded from the exchange list, despite appeals from international medical and human rights organizations.

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, who served as the head of pediatrics at Kamal Adwan Hospital, was abducted during an Israeli raid on the medical facility in December. Reports indicate that he has since been subjected to severe abuse and starvation while in detention.

Dr. Marwan Al Hams, another respected physician from Gaza, was also taken during similar military operations and remains in Israeli custody.

The exclusion of the two doctors has drawn widespread condemnation from humanitarian groups, who describe their detention as a violation of international law protecting medical workers in conflict zones.
