BREAKING: Israel Just Struck The Only Facility In Iran That Converts Raw Uranium Ore Into Yellowcake

The Ardakan plant in Yazd province was unique. It was the single entry point to Iran’s uranium fuel cycle. Raw ore goes in. Yellowcake concentrate comes out. Without yellowcake, the centrifuges at Natanz and Fordow have nothing to enrich. The IDF confirmed the strike and described Ardakan as a facility with no equivalent elsewhere in Iran.

In the same wave, Israeli jets hit the Shahid Khondab heavy water complex near Arak, the facility the IDF called a “key plutonium production site for nuclear weapons.” Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization confirmed both strikes, reported no casualties and no radiation risk. The IAEA confirmed no increase in off-site radiation above normal background.

This is the Begin Doctrine in its purest form. The same strategic logic that destroyed Iraq’s Osirak reactor in 1981 and Syria’s Al-Kibar reactor in 2007. Unilateral pre-emptive strikes on nuclear infrastructure before it reaches operational capability.

Both of Iran’s primary nuclear pathways have now been degraded in a single night. The uranium route lost its feedstock conversion facility. The plutonium route lost its heavy water reactor complex, which had already been damaged in a 2025 strike.

But “degraded” is not “eliminated.”

Natanz still operates underground. Its enrichment halls survived beneath hardened mountain rock. Fordow, buried deep under a mountain near Qom, appears minimally affected. Isfahan holds underground storage facilities containing an estimated 450 to 970 pounds of 60 percent enriched uranium, enough for multiple weapons if enriched further to 90 percent. A new tunnel complex called Pickaxe Mountain near Natanz has been under accelerated construction per Planet Labs satellite imagery and the Institute for Science and International Security.

Iran’s tunnel defense runs 79 to 100 metres deep under mountain rock. Repair crews restored collapsed entrances in as little as 12 days per CNN satellite analysis. But every repair window is a targeting window.

Here is where it converges with everything else in this war.

Trump told the FII summit on Friday that 3,554 Iranian targets remain and will be struck “very, very quickly.” He said 97 percent of Iran’s missile launchers have been destroyed. He said the regime has been changed. Then he told the room Iran must open “the Trump Strait. I mean Hormuz.”

CBS, Axios, and Wired have reported that the Trump administration is actively planning JSOC contingency operations to physically seize Iran’s enriched uranium stockpiles from underground tunnels. Trump himself said: “We’re going down and we’ll take it.” The operation would require Delta Force or DEVGRU for initial breach, 160th SOAR for insertion, Rangers and 82nd Airborne for perimeter security, and Nuclear Disablement Teams to handle highly toxic uranium hexafluoride canisters in a radiologically hazardous environment. Estimated force: 500 to 1,000 personnel on site.

Three carrier strike groups are now converging. Two Marine Expeditionary Units are closing. Over 60 JSOC flights have delivered special operations assets to forward staging. The April 6 deadline is nine days away. Easter is April 5. The largest US military buildup in the Middle East since 2003 reaches peak positioning the day the pause expires.

The yellowcake plant is gone. The heavy water complex is crippled. The underground enrichment survives. The stockpiles remain. And the question of whether this war ends with airstrikes or with American special forces breaching Iranian tunnels to extract radioactive material under fire is no longer hypothetical.

It is on the planning table. Tied to a deadline. With the forces in position.
