Tensions on Israel’s northern front escalated sharply on Sunday following reports that the country’s security establishment is recommending a “short, multi-day” military campaign in Lebanon aimed at delivering a decisive blow before diplomatic efforts can halt the confrontation.
According to Israel’s Channel 13, the proposed operation would be limited in duration but highly intense, targeting Hezbollah positions in an attempt to shift battlefield dynamics rapidly.
In a parallel development, Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) troops have reportedly entered the Lebanese border village of Adaisseh, prompting immediate deployment of Lebanese army reinforcements to the area.
If confirmed, this would represent Israel’s most direct ground incursion into Lebanon since 2006, signalling a dramatic escalation and raising fears of a broader conflict along the northern border.
Regional observers warn that any miscalculation could push both sides into a full-scale war, even as international actors attempt to de-escalate the situation.
More updates shortly.
