The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has reportedly responded to recent threats by President Donald Trump concerning potential military action in Nigeria.

Trump, who designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern, also instructed the U.S. Department of War to prepare for possible intervention over accusations of genocide against Christians in Nigeria.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama stated in a report shared on his official X account that ISWAP reacted to Trump’s warning through a propaganda message circulated on their usual communication channels.

In the message, ISWAP described Trump as a “reckless American tyrant” and claimed he is influenced by “evangelical Christian and Jewish advisers.” The group also alleged that Trump’s actions aim to position the U.S. as a “global defender of Christians.”

Additionally, the extremists advised their fighters to avoid using smartphones, large gatherings, and unnecessary movement.

The statement called on Muslims in West Africa to “unite” and take the U.S. threat seriously, accusing the West of committing “crimes against African Muslims.”
