- 5,096 candidates who experienced biometric verification failures during the main exam.
Affected candidates can print their examination slips from Monday, June 23 to know their venues and time slots.
Highlights of the Announcement:
- 183 CBT centres nationwide will host the mop-up exam.
- Some towns have been disqualified from hosting the mop-up due to ongoing investigations.
- Relocation notices will be issued to affected candidates.
- Special security and invigilation squads will be deployed to enforce exam integrity.
- Arrival time for 8:00 a.m. sessions is 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Crackdown on Impersonation & Exam Malpractice:
JAMB revealed that the mop-up exam also offers an opportunity to apprehend impersonators, including university undergraduates who illegally sit for UTME on behalf of others. Institutions of culprits are being notified for disciplinary action in line with the Examination Malpractice Act of 1999.
113 CBT Centres Suspended or Delisted:
JAMB also announced the suspension or delisting of 113 CBT centres due to various technical and security infractions. Some of these centres are under investigation for facilitating malpractice, identity theft, and syndicated cheating.
The Board commended security agencies for aiding investigations and promised to ensure that no candidate benefits from cheating, stating that some JAMB staff, school owners, and tutorial operators have already been arrested or charged.
