The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cleared 85 underage candidates for admission under its exceptional policy after a rigorous screening exercise.

The move follows a comprehensive evaluation process established by the Board to ensure fairness and compliance with institutional and national admission standards.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB explains that the 85 candidates were found qualified after meticulous assessment and have been duly notified to proceed to their respective institutions to complete the admission process and print their admission letters.

The Board emphasizes that the policy of exceptional admission aligns with global best practices, where cases of underage candidates with outstanding academic performance are treated as rare exceptions rather than the norm.
